RSS Feeds Paper
This paper illustrates the different ways that an RSS feed reader can be used in the classroom. RSS readers are a great way for teachers to keep in touch and gain ideas from other teachers. They also allow both students and teachers to keep up to date on with research going on in their field and potential real life applications of what students area learning. RSS readers also allow teachers to keep up top of educational research and the best and most current ways to support student learning.
Blogs
Blogs are a great tool that classroom teachers can use. Blogs allow students to not only get their ideas down, but allow them to share their ideas with others. Students are able to read each others ideas and share their responses with comments. When students share ideas, and comment on others thoughts and ideas, they are able to grow and have a better and more appl This is a great tool for students who are shy or nervous about speaking up in class.

PowerPoint & Stand Alone Instructional Research Project
PowerPoint can also be a great tool that teachers and students can use. Here is my Stand Alone Instructional Research Project. My StAIR project used Power Point as a basis for allowing students to move through a lesson at their own pase. The lesson includes instruction for students along with practice questions for students to complete. The practice questions give students immediate feedback on their answer selection. The project also allows students who are struggling to go back to instruction, if they are really struggling.
Screen Casts Screen casts allow one to capture and record what is happening on their computer screen. Screen casts can be useful as a teaching tool for recording lectures, or creating presentations. This could also be a useful tool for explaining expectations to students and showing them exactly what you are looking for.
This example is an inquiry project for my CEP 820 class. I created a Power Point, complete with videos, then recorded over the power Point. This allowed me to create a project that not only conveys my findings, but also allows me to include multiple pieces of technology. |

Video Editing Video editing can be used in the classroom to explain certain phenomena that occur in life. Video editing can also be useful in creating classroom videos to demonstrate student learning.
The following example shows a video that my group created for CEP 800, 815, & 822. The video shows different examples of dropping a ball. The purpose of this was to show that no matter the speed of the person moving, the ball will always fall at the same rate. The video clearly shows the ball falling straight down, no matter the speed of the person running. |

Photo Editing
Photo editing can be a useful tool in all aspects of life. Photos can be edited to bring out an idea or concept, or to demonstrate a real-life concept. Photo editing can also be used to clean-up photos that did not turn out exactly how you were hoping.

Webpage Creation
Creating webpages can be extremely useful to classroom teachers. Webpages can be a great way to communicate with parents and students outside of the classroom. By designing your own webpage, teachers can choose to include important information, activities that students are completing in class, and and additional important resources. I have used multiple design options for creating webpages including Weebly, Wordpress, and Wikispaces.
In this webpage, you will find my Understanding Understanding project. For this, my group and I researched peoples understanding of sound. This webpage allowed us to display the information in a way that is easy to navigate.
